about

'I got the warehouse blues' is about those who work in warehouses, the back stores of retail or production lines, usually many on minimum wage and some on zero contract hours. Its what many can identify with and may be hard, repetitive manual handling work. It also sends out the message that at least an earner can assist someone on the street or the Feedback queues, or lineups as they say in America and Canada. If I get any downloads this year I will donate half to the Bangor Foodbank, Co Down, NI as one of their volunteers helped me bring the song to conclusion.

lyrics

I got the warehouse blues - © Samuel Irwin 26.05.2016

I been pick’n - and a pack’n,
I been working, in the racking.
I been pushing - an’ a shoving,
The whole night - shift thru.
I got the warehouse blues.
I some good news
I been sweating and a getting
I got the - warehouse blues.

I been lifting - and a setting
I been reaching - and a getting
I been recorded - and distorted
Yes, I tell you - its true.
#
I’ve been timed - and misaligned.
I’ve been searched - an I been fine.
I’ve been handling - and a hanging,
They even time, all I do.
#
I’ve been meeted - and a greeted
I’ve been rated - and mistreated
I been tried - and mystified,
Zero contract, work all hours.
#
I’ve been trained, and I’ve refrained
I’ve been timed - and mis-aligned
But I’ve been work-in, I been kind.
I been donating for the Feed-bank queues.
